I went to secondary school with Vicky and was really pleased when she asked me to photograph her wedding, I hadn't seen her since college but had her as a friend on Facebook where she'd seen some of my photos. Vicky & Dan got married in Tunbridge Wells at High Rocks which is an amazing venue. I went along to the hotel where Vicky and her family and bridesmaids were getting ready in the morning. The stage of getting ready is actually my favourite part of the day as everyone is quite relaxed and I can float about unnoticed amongst the hustle and bustle of preparations. It also gives me time to capture the details.
Vicky and her bridesmaids were picked up from the hotel and taken to High Rocks in a beautiful horse and carriage.
After the ceremony it unfortunately started to rain so while the guests ran back inside we dashed up to the Rocks to take a couple of photos before returning to take the group pictures inside one of the larger rooms.
I had a break whilst everyone sat down to dinner (and I was lucky enough to have a lovely dinner too!!) and then it was time for the speeches. Vicky's dad made everyone laugh when he opened his speech and it fell to the floor.
Later in the evening the rain finally stopped and it brightened up enough for people to go back outside. I took this opportunity to do a big group photo as I hadn't been able to do this so well inside on one level. Then all the guests threw their confetti over the couple.
After taking a few more couple pics outside I took some pics of Vicky & Dan being a bit mischievous, they are such a fun couple it was enjoyable to photograph them having fun and making faces at each other.
Thanks Vicky & Dan for letting me be part of your special day, I hope you are pleased with the photos. Hopefully I captured a true picture of the story on your wedding day. Good luck for the future Mr and Mrs Box!
