Blood Swept Lands & Seas of Red - October 2014

In October we went to see the incredible art installation of poppies at the Tower of London, to commemorate 100 years since the First World War.  The poppies were ceramic and each one represented a person from the British military who had died during the war.  It was quite something to take in, to actually think about how many people lost their lives and I thought it was a truly beautiful way to remember them.  I found it really touching to hear parents telling their young children, about what it meant and why they were there. All of the poppies were sold and raised millions for the service charities, what an incredible idea.
