We flew in a hot air balloon with Virgin in August last year and it was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, it is unbelievable how you can be in a giant balloon with 14 other people, powered by heat and yet it can be the quietest place you have ever experienced. The hardest part was getting in and out, as once the balloon is inflated you have to be pretty quick to get in but everyone helps each other to climb into the basket. After that its up, up and away, climbing higher and higher. Its amazing what you can hear from such a height, even a dog barking interrupts that silence, looking at the beautiful countryside views, floating over houses and fields its almost like being in a dream as you can't really feel the basket move even you literally glide through the sky. Part of the experience is getting to help roll out and put away this enormous balloon, when its laid out of the ground you just cannot believe the sheer size of it
We were lucky enough to see a beautiful rainbow at the start aswell after some really heavy showers before the flight

Ok so obviously this wasn't taken by me - but the pilot had a seriously interesting contraption, essentially a giant selfie stick!!
