Kew Gardens May 2013

After staying at a hotel for a friends wedding and getting up early for breakfast we didn't want to head home and decided to make the most of the sunshine and drove to Kew Gardens in London.  These are a few of my favourite pics, can't believe how hot it was you wouldn't believe it looking out of the window tonight...

Nymans Gardens April 2013

Last weekend my mum, Graham and I went for a wander around the National Trust gardens Nyman's.  It was sunny but still a little chilly and the flowers were a bit confused by the weather some having blossomed early and others only just budding when normally they'd be in full bloom, but it was lovely to see some colour at last after such a drab start to the year! Here's a few of my pics, the one of me was taken by Graham :)

Gabbys 1st Birthday

In Feb 2011 I photographed Christaline & Asho's colourful Srilankan wedding and since then they have had a beautiful baby girl.  Gabby has just turned one and Christaline asked if I could come and take some photos of the family party to celebrate her first birthday just before Christmas.

Gabby looked lovely in her white dress and was having fun crawling around and playing.

 Christaline made the cake herself, Noah's Ark with individual animal cupcakes around it.

I took some photographs of Gabby with mum and dad and then some family photos.

After prayer, cake cutting and a change of clothes for Gabby, the immediate family took part in a teething ceremony, which involved Gabby sitting with an aunt and uncle under an umbrella surrounded by all the other children.  Then family members came up and tipped treats onto the umbrella while the kids scrambled to catch and collect the sweets!

 

It was a beautiful party full of colour and tradition and Gabby had lots of fun!
