Wisley RHS Gardens

Over the bank holiday weekend there wasn't much sunshine but on Sunday I went to Wisley with my family to look around the craft fair and it was great opportunity to take some photos while it wasn't raining!  Heres a few of the beautiful gardens and my family (being willing models).

Spring Blossom

Firstly I've had to go back to the old layout of my blog as the new one was frequently not loading properly! So as before to view my previous blogs & example of my work, choose from the archive list to the right hand side!

Secondly...I have bought a new camera, a super duper amazing camera which I have been dying to get out and play with!! This week since it arrived has been non stop miserable windy rainy weather and so this morning I decided to make the most of the sun and go down to the Coulsdon Memorial Ground to take some photos.  Whilst there I met some friendly passers by, one who belongs to a photography club, which i've now been invited to! And another lady who was enjoying the blossom and remembering her childhood days of lying on the grass looking up at the sky.  It was a beautiful morning especially after such a gloomy week.

The Canon 5D Mark III is a whole different ball game than the Lumix G1 i've been using for the past three years, so i've got lots of testing, reading and playing to do over the coming months!

These are some photos taken today in the park of the blossom trees, I'm really pleased with how they came out :)

Marching into the New Year

It’s a new year so I’ve given my site a bit of a makeover!  Just click on the photo of the blog you want to view.  All my wedding and portrait blogs have lots of examples of my work!  If you want to know about me and how to contact me then just click on my profile at the right hand side.

Somehow it is March already and time seems to be sneaking up on me since Christmas.  Last month a trip to Gibraltar enabled me to get up close to some wild Barbary apes.  Perhaps a bit too close…when one jumped on my back and started unzipping my bag I was a little unprepared! But I did get a chance to take some great pics of these mischievous apes in their natural habitat on the rock.

It could be time for an upgrade on the camera stakes.  My trusty Lumix G1 I’ve had for three years now helping me develop my skills and my confidence.  But now it feels like the right time to invest in a professional DSLR and take it up a notch!  So watch this space, as spring emerges so might my lens!

Abbey Mills Part Deux

On Sunday 4th Dec Gemma Warnock Photography went once more to Merton Abbey Mills.  It was a much nicer day, the weather alot better and the market alot busier! To keep me company were Jellybean cakes (my very talented friend & pastry chef Jenny Burl). We were lucky to get stalls at the front this time and the cakes were definatley drawing people over (I sampled quite a few myself)!

If anyone is interested in buying one of my prints on canvas (or in other formats) please contact me by email at gemmawarnock@yahoo.co.uk
I have some already available in the designs shown above however I have hundreds of photos from my travels in Japan, Borneo, New York and Europe aswell as quirky London shots and beautiful nature photographs.  Tell me what you are looking for and I'll post some examples!

Testimonial - Sophie & Rich

Thank you Gemma for capturing all the right moments of our special day!  I felt at ease with Gemma straight away and from looking at her work I knew she would not disappoint.  Gemma started taking photos from early in the morning, right up until our first dance and I found it very hard which ones to choose to frame and hang up in my house as they were all equally as good as each other.  Gemma was professional and polite but also managed to get the group photos shot without the usual hassle of people not looking in the right direction etc.

After our wedding day, it didn’t take long for the photos to be sent to me and I even got in touch with Gemma and asked her to edit a couple of them which she did for me within 24 hours.  I have recommended Gemma to friends and family as she is amazing at what she does!  Thank you Gemma for capturing my perfect day!

Merton Abbey Mills

Next date at Merton Abbey Mills Confirmed, this Sunday 4th December!

On Sunday 20th November I had a stall at Merton Abbey Mills craft market selling a selection of my colourful canvas prints & greetings cards!  It was a VERY cold day and a bit foggy so unfortunatley was a little on the quiet side but still a productive day and I will be giving it another go in December!

As well as my photos to sell I will have my Wedding photography portfolio’s on display and will be available to answer any questions or queries!  Londons alternative market Merton Abbey mills also has lots of yummy places to eat and is a great place to wander on the look out for Christmas presents!

Visitor info can be found on their website at: www.mertonabbeymills.org.uk

Couldn't resist taking this pic of the River Wandle which goes along side the market...

Watch this space for December dates when I will be there!

Testimonial - David & Frankie

Dear Gemma
Just a note to thank you for helping to make our wedding day so special.  We were so pleased with how you made everyone feel relaxed when taking photos of them.  Nothing was too much trouble for you and you captured the relaxed atmosphere of the day perfectly, which was just what we wanted as we didn’t want it to be too formal.

When we received our photo album we couldn’t have been more delighted, it was exactly as we wanted it to be.  Everyone who has seen it thought that it was stunning.

Thank you once again

Frankie and David
