Wedding: Sophie & Rich, The Knowle Country House, Rochester, Kent
Soph & Rich gave me the opportunity to put to the test both my skills and my camera by booking me to photograph their Wedding. After a pre-wedding visit to the beautiful venue they had chosen, The Knowle, it was great to see that they were both open to trying some interesting shots and also had creative ideas of their own.
On the day I was there in the morning while the girls were getting ready which was a fantastic experience, observing the emotion and all the preparations. It was my job to capture these moments, and I also used that time to photograph the details.

Being there throughout the entire event I was able to capture images which really told the story of the day. The weather was hot and sunny and so they were able to have the ceremony outside as planned in the gardens.
After the ceremony the guests strolled about the grounds and had drinks while I snuck off with Soph and Rich to do some photos of the couple. I saw them visibly relax knowing the nerve wracking part was over and they could now enjoy being Mr and Mrs Roddis.
The group shots were a pleasure to shoot as all the family and guests were happy to be maneuvered about and try some fun shoots.
The reception itself included a really tasty meal which I was lucky to enjoy while I had a break, some comical and emotional speeches, all leading to a party which soon got into full swing after the first dance.
Something which I really enjoyed taking photos of was the details. These are things which are prepared and specifically chosen especially for the day but sometimes for the couple it can be such a blur that they don’t notice the details on the day. It was fun to capture some artistic shots of these special details so they can look back and remember them.
A gorgeous array of outfits and superb location combined with working with a couple so relaxed and happy made my job very enjoyable. Congratulations to Soph and Rich! My partner Jamie assisted me on the day and I couldn’t have done it without him, he supported me just by being there but also took some fabulous photos of his own.
